Welcome to the Table & Compass Podcast

Table & Compass, Welcome to the Table & Compass Podcast

“Every small action you take towards your goals will bring you closer to your
dreams; be grateful for every opportunity.”

Belén Gallardo

Table & Compass Origins

Every journey tells a story, but not every story begins with a passport.

When we created Wanderers Compass, our goal was to inspire curiosity through travel, history, culture, and meaningful experiences. Along the way, we discovered that some of the best conversations happen after the adventure ends, around a dinner table, over a cup of coffee, or during those moments when life slows down just enough to reflect. That’s where the idea for Table & Compass was born.

Inspired by Global Connections

Travel has always been at the heart of what we do, and it always will be. But as Wanderers Compass has grown, so have the conversations we wanted to have.

One of the inspirations behind Table & Compass comes from Joelle’s work as an ECOSOC Representative with the United Nations and the opportunity to learn from people around the world who are working to create positive change in the world.

Through that experience, she gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of collaboration, cultural understanding, and the shared challenges that connect us all. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlight many of these global priorities, from preserving our environment and protecting cultural heritage to promoting education, equality, and stronger communities.

While Table & Compass is not a podcast focused solely on the SDGs, their values align closely with the conversations we hope to share. We believe that every person, every community, and every story has the power to inspire curiosity, encourage understanding, and help create a more connected world.

Why “Table & Compass”?

The table has always been where people gather. It’s where families reconnect, friends celebrate, ideas are exchanged, and stories are shared. The compass represents Wanderers Compass, which, at its core, is about curiosity, discovery, and the willingness to explore something new.

Together, they reflect exactly what this podcast is about: meaningful conversations that encourage us to think and learn. To see the world from different perspectives.

What You Can Expect

Every episode is designed to be welcoming, engaging, and thought-provoking. Some conversations will make you laugh, others may challenge the way you think, and many will introduce you to people and ideas you may never have encountered otherwise.

We’ll continue to share the values that have always guided Wanderers Compass: curiosity, authenticity, respect, and a genuine appreciation for the people and places that make our world extraordinary.

Our First Conversation

We couldn’t think of a better way to begin the Table & Compass journey than with a conversation about building a better world through connection, community, and understanding.

For our inaugural episode, we sit down with Carlisle Richardson, an international relations expert, author, and former Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations. Carlisle’s remarkable career includes serving as a United Nations Economic Affairs Officer, where he played a role in the negotiations that helped shape the Sustainable Development Goals and contributed to preparations for the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Together, we explore how travel can build understanding between cultures, why protecting heritage and local communities matters, and how each of us can contribute to a more sustainable future. From island communities and conservation to storytelling and the importance of preserving cultural identity, this conversation reflects the heart of what Table & Compass was created to do: bring people together through meaningful discussions and shared experiences.

We invite you to join us for this first episode and discover why the stories we share, the places we visit, and the connections we make can help shape a better understanding of the world around us.

Flights, Accommodations, and Everything You Need to Book in One Place

Are you planning a vacation this year? Start your research early to explore your options and find what fits your budget. By booking your own travel, you’ll uncover great deals and have complete control over your itinerary. The links below can be used for all elements of your trip, not just accommodations.

It is essential to price out accommodations on various sites. Expedia is a US-based company, whereas Booking.com is a European company. Not all properties appear on both, so it is best to check both. Our personal first choice is Booking.com. If the establishment has a website, check the price there as well. Click the link below to check out hotels and vacation homes in the area. It may be just the motivation you need to start planning that next grand adventure.
